What months do pulm/cc programs interview mostly?

Hi everyone,

As interview season approaches, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what months are typically interview-heavy for applicants going for pulmonary/cc? I hear it varies by medicine specialty (i.e. GI apparently interviews October/November), it would help a lot in requesting elective time and planning the PGY-3 schedule to best accommodate those months. Thanks!

I would say mid-Sept through Oct made up the bulk of interviews. A few programs had dates as early as end of August and as late as beginning of November.

Agree - had one interview in mid-August (although they offered plenty of other dates)...primarily, interviews were just continuous throughout all of September and October - those would be the 2 months to aim for elective months
