Hey Hey

Does anyone know what the chances are of actually getting accepted after you interview? I have interviews at BU and USC so far and I am wondering what % of ppl get in that are interviewed....I think I read at BU its like 50% but I cant remember if I really read it or if I just made that stat up! haha

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I can tell you that UMich interview 300 some candidates for 110 seats. So, they take 1 out of 3 applicants with a few more for waiting list/alternates/change of minds.

It varies from school to school. Arizona will have around 3,000 applicants this year, interview about 250 (as far as I can tell), and give acceptances to about 70 for the 54 spots.

UF Receives 1700+ applicants, Interviews 300, accepts 80

i know usc accepts about 150 students, but dont know how many they interview

Knowing the numbers is fine...but just keep in mind it also depends on WHEN you interview. I know this isnt true at all schools, but I'm sure at a good number of places your chances are much better if you interview before Dec. 1. But I'm sure you already knew this as a well informed pre-dent 😉

honestly, you would think that it would be to your favor, but its been my experience that most of the people that apply after december 1 are the sub par students (slackers) who do not know what they want to do, and hence do not interview as well.

I know people will disagree, however, the smart kids applied quick and soon and went after it.

Maybe thats why schools do not hesitate because those are really the kids who want to go there and thus the better candidates.

great thread..Does anyone know anything about LOMA LINDA and there acceptance rates after the interview? THANK YOU 🙂

UCSF has about 1800 apps, interview 200+ and accepts 80. (actually, they reserve 3 or 4 spots from last years applicants, so its about 76)

But, to figure out the % of you getting in depends on the school and when you interviewed. For example, schools like Harvard, UCLA, Columbia, UPenn, and UCSF etc,.. are top picks for most people so the later you interview the more your chances go into the toilet. This is because few applicants will turn down Harvard for another school.

My top pick is UCSF but since most CA residents and WHICHE peeps will pick UCSF/UCLA over just about any other school makes getting inot these state schools a timing issue.

So, to make a long story short, a late interview at a popular school aint good!

Good luck all!

i think many of you are forgetting that only about half of those accepted attend because many people accepted are accepted to more than one school. talking to temple the other day, they sent out 200 acceptances on dec 1st and got 80some deposits. so if a school, say like umich, interviews 300, and has a class of 110, they probably accept about 200 or something, so about 66% chance of acceptance in this case.

Hey anyone know the % for Stony Brook? So far it's my only interview and I really want to go there anyhow, so if im accepted, this game is over....
I know they receive around 550 applications (dont know about this cycle being there is supposed to be a spike in the # of applicants) but that stat is from 2003-2004 and they have 38 seats to give. I don't know how many they actually interview vs accept (being students will decline). If anyone has any stats, please let me know. Im busting to know my chances here.

USC's class size is over 100, how can they fill their class with 144 acceptances.

I think D-school is also around 50%

It's 144 that eventually attend, they "accept" more than that # due to people going to other schools.

anybody know how many interviews temple gives out?

Alot (if you look at the interview thread, i think Temple has one of the most interviewees), and after talking to a person from the AdCom, he said 104 spots have been secured for the entering class, which only has 125 seats available...=\

Does any one know how many UNLV interviews and accepts. Also I'm forgetting how many seats it has in total?

I interviewed at stony brook in early january, I think the number they said they have had was 1400 applications. Then they said they've interviewed around 200, already more than last year. So 1400 down to 200 down to 38 im too hungover to do the math.
