do when you have mandatory attendance and the crappiest of crappy crap crap professor teaching a class. The beauty of it is that said professor gets to go on and on for almost 4 hours (yay for blocks!).

After reading the text, outlining it, and making flashcards I was only an hour into lecture.

How do these people get kept on each year?

1) Catch up on sleep
2) Pop in some earbuds and airguitar (my fav)
3) Take a bag of Doritos to class and try to eat them quietly (a game; also a favorite)
4) Try to count how many times your teacher says the phrase "Everyone with me so far?" or similar phrase
5) Earplugs and study for another class while recording lecture just in case you miss something

Any combination of the above.

Food isn't allowed. We know what we're dealing with now

I wouldn't attend a medical school that required attendance to all lectures (or even most) even if it was my only acceptance. My sanity isn't worth that price.

roll the dice when necessary and skip class. fear keeps many in their seats on a daily basis. but when you have to go and you know the prof is beat@$$ boring, pop in those low profile ear plugs and get studying.

I wonder if you'd be saying the same thing if LECOM was the only med school that accepted you...

take your First Aid book with you to class and start studying board questions. Put in your ear plugs and just take it as freebie study time.

What ear plugs do you guys use b/c I could still hear the professor babbling whenever I put them on.

Tough situation. I definitely benefited from many afternoons of skipping class. Listening to the recorded lectures at 3x speed definitely helps you get your stuff done faster! Like the others said, try to use it as study time. Whether is is disrespectful or not you have to remember that YOU are paying to be there and it is up to YOU to do what is best for YOUR education.
