I asked this on another thread but I thought I'd put it out there for all...

what kind of paper is everyone using for their secondaries? Resume/fancy or just standard?

Ever seen Legally Blond? Pink and scented all the way. 😉

Toilet paper works well also. Make sure it's two ply though, and not the single layered crap.

Use a nice, heavy bright white paper. It probably doesn't matter, though, because everyone on the adcom will just get photocopies on plain paper. Maybe the dean will have your pristine fancy-paper original.

Thanks all -- I'm going to keep using my regular old printer paper!

You have just blown all of your chances to getting into a ranked school. The type of printer paper used is an important determining factor in medical school admissions.

Wait, is that a joke or an actual factor? I mean, paper shouldn't matter... right?

I personally believe secondaries should not be sent unless they are typed on Mesopotamian hand crafted clay tablet. That or your run of the mill printer paper.😀

Clay tablet? I don't think so. Clay is too pliable and easy for making indentations. Essentially, to get serious consideration anywhere, you have two main options:

1. A sculpture of your secondary application with each letter carved in the likeness of a physician that graduated from the school to which you are applying.

2. Engraved onto gold bricks. No more than one word per brick, or you will seem like a cheapskate and adcoms will seriously question your desire to go to their school.

😱 Somebody's sarcasm detector is broken... 😉 😀

ditto to what fermi said. Heavy bond, if possible.

The normal paper is just fine too, though.

Definetly put your printer at best quality. If a laser printer is easily available to you, take advantage of it. Don't use dot matrix, if you even HAVE those ancient devices.

Considering they are making copies, I would advice against using anything BUT white. Even for resumes, it's out of style.

Seriously, I think standard is fine.

Oh, ok, hahaha, yeah I get it now, funny...

Further evidence of the community neurosis so obvious in this forum. Who the hell cares what kind of paper you use?

I know.. good lord, first thing you have to do to apply to medical school is unclench your ass.

Come on people....it was a legitimate question.🙄

Just use a decent 20 lb paper. If you send in a fancy resume type paper, you know the ones with the frayed edges and water marks and such, it may jam the copy machine. This will result in your nice letter getting trashed.

Good grief people, I asked this maybe 6 weeks ago. Get over it already.

the paper isn't as important as the substance of the INK!!!!

anything less than 97 dollar per ounce Persian Ink will NOT cut it!
!!!!
