wasting time before match day and wondering, "what % of people get their first choice for internal med?" is this data published, or available anywhere? one of our profs said the number is 60-70%. does this seem accurate?

You will find the answer here: http://www.nrmp.org/data/resultsanddata2008.pdf

For the past 5 years overall, 55-60% of AMGs (in all specialties) have matched to their first choice and another 30% match to #2, 3 or 4. Numbers aren't quite as good for independent applicants and they don't break those down by I/FMG, DO and non-US seniors. They don't break it down by specialty.
