I received a letter from OSU informing me of a competitive biological science scholarship. It would be for 5 semesters. Part of the application requirement is a letter from me which includes what I would like to research. The lady in charge of this project at OSU told me that I did not have to be real specific. She said some students know exactly what they would like to persue, but they would be the exception. Still, it's been a whopping 32 years since I last took ANY science. 😱 On top of that, in my prior college career, I majored in voice, then spent the last 25 years in accounting. So, you see, I haven't a clue even what DIRECTION to take. I would like it to be something that could be useful somehow in my medical training/career. Any ideas??? 😕

Thank you so much in advance!!!

i'm in genetics research right now and i've learned so much from it, specifically which type of research i'm interested in. i would find out if you can do clinical or purely laboratory research. i wish i was in clinical research. if so, you can try to do something that you might be interested in specializing someday. for example, i'm interested in dermatology so i will be looking for research in medical school (hopefully 😉 ) that will help me with that. that said, find out at what level would be interesting to you and start from there. you work with things as little as DNA (i do that!) to proteins, to cells, to entire organisms. maybe you're interested in cancer? you could find something with that. all research is tedious so it would help to have an interest in it but only you know what you are interested in. good luck! 👍

Im doing immunology research with flu vaccinations effects on Natural Autoantibodies. 😍
