What schools accept the fewest applicants into each class?

I was just curious what some of the smaller class sizes were for allopathic schools. I know the TX schools typically take 150-200. I know that Mayo and Stanford take very small classes. Someone in Atlanta told me Morehouse takes a very small class, but I cannot confirm this.

I was just curious, because I am headed to the DO school that, I believe, takes the smallest entering class, and I was wondering how much of an advantage this can be. Anyone who attends school somewhere with a small class-size, feel free to chime in on this.

I think you just nailed down the only TV show that could possibly be worse than MTV's "The Real World". Instead of following around a bunch of douchebags, MTV would follow around a bunch of medical students. Library. Class. Lab. Not even time for drama.

Right now, any entering class of less than 100 students is considered small. Among allopathic medical schools, Mayo and CCLM are pretty small with less than 50 students. I am very sure that the Mayo/CCLM folks would consider their small class an advantage in that they are never lost among a huge mass of students.

The downside of being a member of a small class is that everyone gets to know you pretty well. My medical school class was about 100 which felt OK. We all got to know each other pretty quickly and we became pretty close. I imagine that if my class had been half its size, we would have been like a big family.

Right, we have 32 students per class.

This pretty much sums up how I feel. It is a lot like being a family, both the good and the bad aspects of that. But the nice thing at CCLCM is that we are also Case students, so we have access to all of the Case facilities and social events too. For example, we are invited to all of the Case post-test parties even though we don't take the tests. 🙂
