For those of you applying Early Decision, do you have phenomenal stats or what? I was thinking of applying early decision, but I don't want to be rejected or deferred to regular admission, only to have a later start in applying to other schools. I'm debating whether to apply ED to VCU or just apply to VCU + other schools regular decision =\
I am having the same problem. I keep going back and forth about applying ED for UMB. I truly feel that it's the school for me, but they have a minimum 80 PCAT composite requirement and I haven't done well on the PCAT in the past. I am afraid I might bomb it again and get rejected for not meeting their PCAT requirement. I would then feel stupid for not using that time wisely to apply to other schools that are not as strict on the PCAT scores. UGGHHH...it's absolutely driving me insane!!
I trying rationalizing the whole situation by thinking, well since ED applicants will know their status by I think 10/24 or 10/26, we should have money prepared for additional schools to add to pharmcas and for supplementals. We should also do the supplementals apps ASAP. For instance, one of my back up schools is UNC and their apps is due 11/1. If I don't get accepted by UMB, the minute I find out, I'm going to add all my back up list schools to pharmcas, do the supplementals (esp. for UNC) and have it priority mailed just so it can make the 11/1 deadline. Just try to think ahead and prepare for the worst if you decide to go through with ED. Good luck!
BTW my stats:
~3.5 Overall GPA/~3.3 sciGPA/4.0 mathGPA (I will know my exact GPAs when PharmCAS calculates and averages my GPAs from the different schools I attended)
1.5 years working as a pharm tech at a pharmacy
administrative intern and summer student researcher while in undergrad
extracurriculars: shadowed two hospital pharmacists, volunteered at a nursing home and children's hospital, made sandwiches for the homeless, used to be a Eucharistic minister for my parish
