UOP. That's it.

It's my top choice. And since other schools have more pre-req courses I'm not going to be able to apply to those until next year. I wasn't going to apply anywhere this year but I thought why not give it a shot and apply to my top choice this year... it'll be good practice lol 🙂

Good luck everyone :luck:

UCSF, UOP, USC, Loma Linda, Western, + other schools out of state.

Mercer
Nova
Midwestern (Downers Grove)
Belmont
South
Howard

Texas Tech
UT Austin
UH
A&M Kingsville
Southwestern Oklahoma

One and only one:

UMB!!!

But...if I do not get in as an ED applicant (ugghhh, still contemplating this!!) I got a list of back-ups (in order of preference):

1.University at Buffalo (in-state tuition!!)
2.UNC
3.VCU
4.Mercer
5.Howard

Good luck everyone!! I hope we all get to be Class of 2013 SOMEWHERE!!!🙂

Is it just me or does Loma Linda's application seem kind of weird (i.e. their personal statment has like...6-7 different requirements that you must answer that is more detailed and specific than the general PharmCAS one).

But here are my schools:
1. UCSF
2. USC
3. UCSD
4. Touro
5. Western
6. MCPHS- Boston
7. Purdue

These schools are listed in order of preference as well.

Me too.😉

Did you end up calling SF? I haven't found time to call because I had been studying for my finals. I will however after I take my last final in 2 hours.

I finally called today, I officially ran out of excuses to postpone it any longer.🙂🙄 I called the number listed in the upper left corner of my rejection letter and spoke to somebody who explained to me how the process works. Joel Gonzales is the person who is going to review your application with you. It is going to be done over the phone in the "interview-like" appointment. He is not only going to review your application with you but also give you advice how to strengthen your application for next year. The person in admissions then transferred me to Joel , who was really really nice and we scheduled my phone appointment. The earliest he could talk to me was August 6, so call soon, unless you want your appointment to be in September.

Hope this helps, hopefully me and you get in somewhere good this year. :luck: Oh and good luck with your final !!!!!!

If you mean University of Rhode Island (URI), I'm pretty sure that they do not accept pharmacy transfers.
Please let me know if you are aware of any changes to their admissions policy.
Thanks so much.

Glad to see you placed LIU 7th, especially since, after reading some of your previous posts, they have been giving you false hope and the runaround for a long time now.
Since you'll be getting your bachelors, did you consider Northeastern? I would have liked to apply there, but I won't be eligible because of lack of bachelors.
Do you know much about Touro - New York? I've been viewing their site, but no updates have been available. I'm not too sure if I would consider it though, as the safety issue is a concern.
Also, Touro's reputation in New York City has been slightly tarnished, and I would'nt want that getting in the way of future employment.

I don't know. The website claims that their inaugural class starts in Fall 2008, but whenever I call them, no one picks up, and I'm not a fan of leaving messages.

Hey, someone's applying to USP, what do you know?
I'm guessing that you're applying right out of high school. Otherwise there's no point.

So far, they've been accepting no transfers. I know they're moving towards being able to accept them (I know they're developing guidelines for transfer equivalency, since I work for the humanities department), but I don't know if that'll happen in 2009. I see that it does have a transfer guide, so maybe they are accepting them now, who knows. I checked the guide (accessed from the USP site) and just warning you that we have some weird prereqs (examples: sociology, another social science, 2 humanities classes that can be art or a language or something). The whole guide doesn't seem well thought through, so maybe it is the first time they're accepting transfers.

Edit: Aha! I found a clause in the guide saying "transfer space may or may not become available, we anticipate transfer enrollment to be very limited" so with that and our strange prereqs, you're probably better served applying to other places. Your choice though.

For those of you applying Early Decision, do you have phenomenal stats or what? I was thinking of applying early decision, but I don't want to be rejected or deferred to regular admission, only to have a later start in applying to other schools. I'm debating whether to apply ED to VCU or just apply to VCU + other schools regular decision =\

wowzer! not sure if SDN just has a lot more California SDN members, but DANG, it seems like a lot of Cali applicants... anyhow, good luck to all of yall😎

I don't think URI accepts transfer students yet (probably 2010).

Shelabo: I have seen your post about 2 schools in NH but I could not find them in Pharmcas web. I emailed UNE 2 weeks ago and no reponse back so far. Do you know how to apply there? through Pharmcas or school directly?

AG

For sure:

Cincinnati
NEUCOP
UK
St. Louis
Creighton
Maryland

....with probably a couple more once I sit down and figure out pre-reqs and gpa averages.

not a definite list nor is it ranked

Belmont, Buffalo, St.John Fisher, Midwestern Downers Grove, Shenandoah, and Thomas Jefferson

Look who is talking ! 🙂😀 I have read your post in another thread and decided I need to be more brave, proactive. and self-sufficient. I am no longer obsessively fixated on the idea of going to a CA school, in fact I've already made up my mind in which CA schools I won't be applying to. I'll move wherever I have to as long as it is a descent accredited school even if it means leaving my bf/family behind.

Good luck with Rutgers. I hear they only accept like 10 students a year if you're transferring in and not starting at their 0-6 program. It is still worth applying to, IMO. I'd love to go to that school. Wish I knew about it earlier (I'm not a NJ resident).

UMB, Shenandoah, Jefferson

Was thinking about applying to Temple only because everyone I work with went there, but I missed the whole calc-based physics thing. I don't know if I want to go to school in the ghetto anyway.

wow...i guess i'm not the only one on this route. i'm in vegas & i wanna go to cali or stay here but the close i'm getting to applying i don't know how realistic that is. 10 years from now when i'm a pharmacist & have a job that i love maybe it'll all be worth it. but the idea of moving now scares me. 😳

Thank you ... Had a friend who was lucky enuff to get an interview with them for Fall 08, and he said that they only had 4 openings for transfer students ... So if I do get in I'll be one happy guy ..

Don't know if he got accepted or not ...

It scares me too, but I have long accepted that there is a good chance I may never attend Cali schools. I can tell I am nowhere near as good and outstanding of a candidate as some of you amazing guys here. I am certainly not extraordinary enough to attend any of the big-name schools like UCSF and UCSD, so was I to get in somewhere in CA it would probably be one of those unaccredited schools. 🙁 I am going to try my hardest to convey how I feel about pharmacy and why I am a well-rounded applicant this year. I have also landed a killer job as a mentor that will definitely boost up my application. Hopefully the admissions committee will see that I have done a lot of soul searching this past year, I've matured and grown up. I am no longer the same careless Cheburashka I was a year ago. :luck:
