What Schools Have Sent out Rejection Letters?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've gotten rejection letters from Minnesota, Missouri, and Michigan.

Maybe we can post them in alphabetical order so that others could find whatever school their looking for quickly? Here, I'll add what we have so far:

Illinois
Michigan

Mississippi
Missouri

maybe we can add the approximate dates and how we found out about it as well? so that we can also feel like we are important even though rejected 🙂

A&M won't send out letters until March.

Anyone know when Colorado sends out theirs? Or do they? I haven't logged into the online application thing in a while.

I have classes with a bunch that have either gotten an interview or a "no thank you" from Washington State.

Illinois: online in Dec.
Kansas: email about "interview waitlist" but to me a rejection in late Dec.
Mississippi: email rejection in late Dec.
Michigan State: letter rejection in late Dec.

Still waiting to hear from Colorado, Western, and UF

Good luck everyone!

I forgot to mention that Colorado sent a formal letter rejection sometime in January last year, but I can't remember the exact time.

Also I know Florida waits until forever to send out their rejections.

I called the admissions office today for an update and the woman I spoke to said they were "in the process of sending them out from this week until early Feb". So, I guess we will hear within the next week or 2. I also saw from other posts that rejection and admission letters from CSU are going to permanent addresses, not current. Hope that helps!

BrumleyVet- do you know if the people that received rejections were IS or OOS?

Permanent addresses? That's different because last year I got mine at my current address.

yeah, on the CSU thread the people who have been accepted said it went to their permanent address. So, I dunno if that's just for instate people but they seem to think that all letters will go to permanent

I haven't heard for interviews nor rejections from Western, VA-Maryland yet, what does that mean?!

It means you still have a chance of getting in..🙂 In my VA-Maryland rejection letter, it said that I couldn't pass the first round.. If you haven't heard from them that means you probably have passed that round but you might not be their first choice..

I got a email from western minutes after I posted by earlier reply!!! I'm so happy!!!🙂

eringobraugh - they were in staters.

Well, I emailed U of Edinburgh for my application status and I received a rejection e-mail as an answer.. I guess we shouldn't bug these ppl too much LOL🙂 Still, I was happy that they were straightforward..

I'm pretty sure that some people mentioned receiving rejections (at least IS) for CSU, so I'm adding them to the list (expecting to be rejected OOS).

"Tufts (not officially, but they're done sending the interview offers)" Really Catnapper??? Darn, I haven't received any news from them. I guess Tufts is out of the question for me too! 🙁

I am IS and was accepted via snail mail to my current address. Last year my rejection came to my current address as well (not my permanent one). Hope this helps!

Hey robeezy! I called Tufts admissions yesterday, and they said they were holding off on the rejection letters for about a week, in case there are interview declines. So there is that sliver of hope...but I'm not holding my breath. Sorry! I know...I'm pretty bummed. I made their wait list last year and don't even get an interview this year. :meanie: / 🙁!!

Have people really gotten rejection letters from CSU? I've not heard a peep from them, snail mail or else wise. And the application only says they have all my materials. 😕

Sadly yes, although it seems only the IS people have received rejection letters via snail mail. It seems that OOS people have either heard that they are accepted or waitlisted. Specifically Gone2Dogs and CBRGrl mention rejections having been received (although CBRGrl said a friend received one) - check out the CSU Class of 2013 thread

It's so ****ty when that happens! 😡

Hey twelvetigers! Does this come from experience? I'm still a little in shock. I didn't expect to automatically get as far as the waitlist again, but I have to admit, I did expect at least an interview...

And DreamComeTrue: Sorry!! That stinks!

Not personal experience, though it prolly would be if I had applied this year. Hah. I have heard of it happening before, and know a girl that was actually waitlisted twice and then didn't get an interview... then she went to Ross, and then she quit. Lol. Not the best example, but I can certainly imagine how heartbreaking it would be.

Yep! Currently working on the Ross app...but I'll just run into the same problem (should I actually get in) that I did with the Royal Vet College (I did get in there last year): if I can't bring my geriatric, ailing cats (or if I have to put them through a horrendous amount of travel), I won't go. 🙄

I am also OOS and applied to CSU, but I haven't heard anything. I have been checking my email and mailbox, but still nothing yet! :xf:

Catnapper, Penny1Cent, & tpad: Tufts doesn't know what they're missing.🙁

Catnapper, I kinda expected that rejection anyway 😉 Yeah, I'm also in the process of applying to Ross as well as St. George but like last year have only filled out half the application and probably wont submit it. I keep holding out hope that I'll get in somewhere in the U.S. I might just send in my application to both of these schools just to see if they would even take me! If they don't, then who will?! Still, it would be nice to tell someone I was actually accepted to a veterinary school but I was holding out to try one last time to get in somewhere in the U.S.! It certainly beats saying I'm a vet school reject!

Hey Catnapper and Dreamcometrue09, you guys said you are in the middle of applying to ross university? What does it mean? I tried to find the application deadlines on its webpage but could not find it.. Are you guys applying for the class of 2013?

Hi 2BaVet! Well I started filling out the application online...but never quite finished. There are no deadlines for applications for Ross. It's rolling admissions. You can send your application in anytime..I believe they have 3 choices, admission for the May class, August class, and January class. I think they suggest for example if you want to apply for the May class you should probably get your application in by March...but I would say ASAP since it's rolling admissions. So probably the earlier you apply the better chance you have. I believe their FAQ page answers this question. I know that being admitted to their August class is actually competitive because almost everyone applies for the August class! If I find any more info I'll post it here.

thank you so much for the info! Do you know of any other schools like that? I guess St. George works the same way.. Any schools in canada?? I guess I started getting very desperate about my application status... 🙁

A few months ago a Ross grad suggested for me to NOT apply for the August class. Long story short...since Ross has an accelerated program, you start your clinical year during the middle of a US schools clinics. This would put one at a disadvantage in having to learn all about a new school with different protocols, technology, etc...as well as work with people who are already in the middle of their clinics.

Ooops! I applied for fall. Ok, so I won't get in there and I'll apply to cosmetology school! 😎

Aww...thanks, guppy! 🙂 What's up with you this year--did you score any acceptances?

Only applied to Tufts, Catnapper--and my interview's on 2/5. Makes no sense why you didn't get an interview--but then again, I guess that the process as a whole sometimes makes little sense....😕

Has anyone got rejected from NCSU I haven't heard anything yet and I was wondering if anyone has even gotten rejected yet? By the way i am IS

they didn't even START looking at us ISers until this month. OSers should mostly know by now I believe

I posted in the wrong thread, pay no attention to me!

St. Matthews University is also rolling admissions. They are fairly new and located in the Grand Cayman Island. I have been accepted there for the fall and visited the school and it I liked it. They have a small class size (20-30 students) so you really get to know everybody!

Here is their website: http://www.stmatthews.edu/school-of-veterinary-medicine.shtml

They are also an accelerated program....3.5 years and you're done! You're only on the island itself for the first 2.5 years, then you go to the US for clinicals.
