Anyone know what schools will accept my mcat score from august 2007 for this upcoming cycle? I REALLY don't want to have to take it again as I scored rather well. California schools are ideal, but anything really I guess. Thanks

That's why I also linked to that thread. It was answering the same question.

The MSAR is a really handy resource if you're applying. I'd recommend getting one.

What exactly does MSAR stand for? I have a friend who had a spreadsheet supposedly from this site that was kind of a what are my chances calculator for the 2009 cycle that on the far right had some great info like avg gpas, mcat's, and what the last mcat accepted was. anything like that for 2010?

How original. I see what it stands for now. But hundreds of pages of info are useless to me. I know someone here has compiled some sort of list. THis site is full of the most neurotic people in the developed world, someone has compiled a new version of the school selector file i have seen from last cycle or has an actual list. Looking for actual help, not smart ass links. ANd why would i pay 25 bucks when someone here will surely have that info easily enough? Not gonna contribute further to the monopoly that is AAMC

Maybe you should try doing some research on your own rather than posting smart ass responses to someone trying to help. If you're just looking for easy answers try the search function or ask your friend for the 2009 spreadsheet. People have to work hard to compile that info that you just want want want.

I'm guessing no schools will take an august 2007 mcat score

a smartass reply gets a smartass response. I asked a simple question. If the first posters didn't have actual info, they could have refrained from posting. I'm sure SOME schools do. About half of the schools on the lase year spreadsheet I saw took 06 scores which would mean 07 for next cycle. I'm just looking for any confirmation from anyone who knows. Obviously I'm going to be looking on my own, but at 4am on a Friday night after some fun drinking, I'm not gonna conduct extensive research on my own. The smart thing to do was put the question out in case someone already knew the answer to save myself some time. Someone tomorrow will have a legitimate answer.

Please don't ever be my doctor.

Really, the MSAR is your best bet. I wouldn't get so snappy at those who are suggesting it. Why would you want to trust some spreadsheet that some dude on the internet made over an established book that's sole purpose is to answer questions like these? If the spreadsheet is incorrect even once, you'll have wasted $31 applying to that school which would have cost more than buying the MSAR. Not only that, but it's a silly approach to apply to schools solely because they take your old MCAT rather than whether or not the school is a good fit for you(curriculum, location, matriculant statistics, etc.). The MSAR will answer all your questions.

And I would suggest having a better attitude when asking people questions on here. And maybe not post on here after drinking...ADCOMS do read SDN, ya know.

School Selector thread found on Page 2 of the Pre Allo forum.

Search function is hard to use, I know. You're forgiven. 🙂

Decades ago man found the need for an interweb, where institutions could make information available to prospective students. After such technological advancement, they needed a way to search this interweb to find pertinent factoids....they called it Google.

"I took the MCAT four years ago. Will I be able to use those scores?
The Medical College Admission Test is required of all applicants and must be taken within three years of the date of matriculation. We will accept scores from 2007, 2008, and 2009 for the October 15, 2009 application deadline. For students who have taken the test more than once, the committee looks at the most recent scores. If you apply with scores more than three years old, you are considered to be automatically requesting a waiver. After review of your application, you will be notified if a waiver is not granted."

So UCSF will not accept 2007 MCAT as this post refers to last years cycle.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that's in the MSAR (I may be wrong)

According to Cornell (http://www.career.cornell.edu/HealthCareers/MCAT/basics.html) you are correct. (I got rid of my MSAR a while ago).

Q. What are the oldest scores considered?
A. The oldest MCAT score that each school is willing to consider is listed in Medical School Admission Requirements in the entry for each school. Usually it is up to two or three years, but this varies.

This factoid was brought to you by google (and about 30 seconds of my time).
