What should I do and when does the app go up officially?

Hey guys,
I know this has been asked a million times but when does the application go up? Should I gather the course codes for all classes on my transcripts so its easier to enter when I apply? I'd like to know the date it goes up, I want to be one of the first, or atleast first thousand. Also, I don't want this semester to hurt my nice 3.9 GPA, (by hurt I mean getting a prospective 2 B's and 3 A's this semester...a really bad semester). Thanks guys.

The application cycle starts May 15th I believe. However, I think I remember that last year the application was put up a week in advance. You can begin to fill it out online and just save it and then submit the application on the first day possible.

You have got to be kidding. A 3.9 and you're worried? SDN people are being really nice to you today or else you would have been trashed. Pretty much with a 3.9 and a decent DAT score, you could still get into a lot of good school even if you apply late. Don't stress out so much. Chill! or else, at the rate you're going, you're gonna jump out of a tall building midway through your first year of dental school.

Seriously! Someone with a 3.0 I would understand but a 3.9 stressing out?! You got it made, don't constipate just relax.

may 15. last cycle it came may 17. don't worry, i'm sure you'll be in the top 1000. i sent mine may 22 and my number was 86.

dex, just go on isis and print out an unofficial transcript. that's what i used to fill my courses in. don't stress about your semester...you'll be just fine.

the week before it opens up, go to criser and have them send an official transcript to aadsas. it will save you a lot of headaches. you have to fill out a form for aadsas concerning the transcript. take that with you when you go to criser.

as long as you have your dat and LORs no later than the end of July, you'll be golden. for the LORs, DO NOT send them to aadsas. use the LOR service in the academic advising building at UF (next to the raquet club dining place). they send up to 5 letters to as many schools as you want for only $15. also, they hold a copy of your letter for 2 yrs!

the lady who runs the service is a b!tch, so take her with a grain of salt. she won't send your letters out until you have your "2ndaries" completely filled out. i told her that schools don't give out 2ndaries unless you have the freakin' letters in. i ended up just lying to her and telling her that i had all my secondaries in...so my letters got sent. 🙂

Yeah, so I see you go to UF I Wuv Teef, are you talking about the rather large lady who sits on her butt all day and gives you crap about asking for the LOR forms? IF so, I know who she is . Anywho, did you apply to UF buddy? Their dental school seems nice, I volunteer there and also at a practice in G-ville (would love to get the hell out of here though). Anywho, thanks for the advice, a DAT score shall be in no later than July..I'd like to dedicate sufficient time for it. Talk to you later,

Yes, you have definetly met her...

Got waitlisted at UF, but I don't care. Did the whole volunteering thing for Shand's for 2 yrs. After I applied, I realized I didn't want to go to UF anymore. Just seemed like the students weren't too happy and the patient/chair dilema is something that is do-able, but the stress of it isn't worth it for me. 4 years in G-ville is probably all I can stand right now

I'm looking forward to living in a new city. Pretty much raised in FL my whole life, so I'm looking forward to living in another part of the country.

Dex, you're gonna get into many places. Don't worry about your application. Just concentrate on getting through this semester. 👍

I have a question why shouldn't u send the LOR's to Aadsas straight. My school doesn't have a LOR service. What should i do? Should i use http://www.interfolio.com/welcome.cfm this site and tell my teachers to send my letters there and then send them out from that site to the dental schools individually? Please tell me if you think this is a good or bad idea and why I shouldn't send letters straight to aadsas? Thanks would appreciate it if you could reply. This LOR is really stressing me out.
