Hey all,
I'm a rising senior at a Top 10 university, double majoring in life sciences and history. I plan on taking a gap year, and am taking the MCAT this summer.
My current GPA is around a 3.5 cga/3.2 sgpa. I received a slew of C's in premed classes, including Orgo I, Biochem and Physics II. I would largely attribute this to a family emergency that started last year, coupled with some mental health issues.
My EC's are limited:
- 3 years of research (1 publication)
- 20 hours of shadowing
- 100 hours of volunteering at a local hospital
- Tutoring through university
Do I have a chance if I continue down the premed track? If I were to do so, what steps should I take to make my application more palatable?
Thanks
