I have already taken my PCAT in August & got a low score, therefore I am planning to retake the exam in January. If I submit my sub. application now, will it hurt me, because only the PCAT score in August would show up? Please give me some advices! thank you.

P.s. I forgot to post on pharmCAS that I'm planning to take the PCAT in Jan. , so would the school assume that my PCAT in august is my final test?
Moreover, the reason why I might want to wait for my pcat score in January is because my GPA is only 3.1 ( not including 5 classes that I would have to finish by fall & spring, so hopefully I ca pull it up.)

WHAT SHOULD I DO? TO SUBMIT OR NOT TO SUBMIT?

Take the PCAT again and study hard for it. Also, try applying to some schools that do not require the PCAT. Good luck.:luck: Don't give up!

Im taking the pcat in January for sure, but should I submit my supplement application now? Thank for the encouragement =]

I am in a similar situation so my advice to you is if you aren't losing much by applying and have a backup plan incase you don't get in this year then go ahead because whats the cost? If you think you did well enough to get you interviews and make you competitive and can afford to finish the strenuous applications then go for it.
For me I didn't do as well as I wanted to on the august PCAT either but that was the deal breaker for me. Now I'm going with my backup which is finish my bachelors and take again in June '09 and pull up my GPA and keep working as a tech...

You're in a tough situation.

Your 3.1 GPA isn't consider really really competitive but its worth a shot. You said you got a low PCAT score on the AUG test. How low is low? If your composite score meets the school's minimum PCAT score, and money is not an issue for you, then go ahead and apply.

There are schools that give interviews for 3.1 GPA and a 50s PCAT but you want to apply super early. Don't wait till the last minute. As time passes, the seats get filled up and the committee's standards for admitting students gets tougher and tougher. You can trust me on that one.

good luck🙂
