over 3500 scribe hours and lot of volunteering work. On Dean list every single semester. any advise pls
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst (reapp).

Find weak spots in app (nonclinical volunteering, working with disadvantaged populations, personal statement, secondaries, etc). Possibly ask schools that have waitlisted/rejected you for feedback on your app.

Contact all the schools and give them updates and tell them specifically why you're a good fit there. Also prepare for a reapp next cycle.

I think personally that you should just take the acceptance and run with it. There are no big differences between DOs and MDs for the most part. If you want a crazy competitive specialty then it might be worth a reapp. As someone who comes from a low income family, I kind of think it is ridiculous to go through the process of thousands more dollars and a whole other year of stress. But hey, that is just my opinion. Best of luck in life !

I am still on waitlist for two MD and two DO schools. FIU & DREXEL (MD) AND NOVA & LECOM(DO). Do you know when the wait list will start moving.

Waitlists typically pick up pace after April 30th since those with multiple acceptance must narrow their decision to one. That is for MD schools, idk about DO.

Tbh, if those are the schools you are waiting on I would reapply. I got into LECOM because of there insane dress code, ranking and grading policy. Not to mention there class size of like 500 people. Also, Drexel is another school I got into but they have NO lectures which is also ridiculous for the amount of money you would be paying. Also, there facilities are terrible in comparison to most places. Sorry to chime in like that but you might want to consider a reapp just to get into somewhere better.

Yes, check out their website they have abundant information about how to go from the Certificate in Molecular and Biomedical Sciences to their MD program.

Drexel is a US MD school with a consistently great match list. Telling this person to automatically reapply because Drexel has “terrible” facilities is terrible advice. OP if you get accepted to Drexel, take it and run. No one goes to lecture anyway.

10000000% agree

Drexel is a school that will get you into a residency program but I have friends who go there and they are not very happy. When I visited there myself others seemed worn out compared to other schools.

I was accepted to a DO school after I was waitlisted literally 1 week before their semester started. Luckily I had already been accepted at another school and put down on a down payment on an apartment, so I turned them down because it would have been too stressful because I was hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park when I got the acceptance and would have only had 3 days to find an apartment and move 4 states away as soon as I drove back from Colorado to the East Coast.

So there's definitely hope, don't give up!

Some school contacts are super generous and nice and tell you to contact them like crazy to keep you on their radar - I cant speak for any of the schools you've been wait listed at ... But you know the admissions people at this point better than I do .. so if you feel like you met someone who told you to email them a lot if you were waitlisted, do it. If not and they said do not contact, do not contact, and hope for the best.
