Hi everyone,

I'm a high school senior who wants to go to pharm school at St. Johns. I am applying for the 0-6 program, but do not believe i have a good enought gpa (3.41) to get in. so long story short, what should i do? can i do my pre-requisites at community college? or do i need a four year degree? is it possible to transfer into the St. johns program? thanks in advance...

You should be asking St. John's College of Pharmacy this, not SDN.

 Hahaha, your status says "Post-doc" and you are a senior in high school. Good times.

My advice is to apply and hope for the best. If you don't get in then it's time to work on some prereqs. Whether it's ok to do prereqs at a community college is, as MedCPA stated, something you need to ask St. John's. Same goes with your question about transferring. Four year degree is not required, only the prereqs.

To sum up:

Apply.
If you don't get in then start some prereqs.
Apply.
If you don't get in then get a BS/BA.
Apply.
If you don't get in then find another career.

Email admissions and read the SJU pharmacy info very carefully. Last year they specifically stated that they would not accept transfers from any school. Nor will they accept transfers from other majors within the university. SJU is very numbers driven and if you don't have the GPA/SAT for acceptance it's probably not in the cards for you. Apply widely and try to keep an open mind - there are other 0-6's and 2+4 schools that offer guaranteed admission.
