Hi,

This is my first post here at SDN. I understand many people have the same question after applying to Med Schools: "What do I do now that I have been rejected?"

First a little bit about myself. I am a Canadian student studying in University of Toronto currently in my third year (still have a year left to complete my undergrad) in Neuroscience and Psychology Major.

cGPA: 3.76 (with 5 courses each semester)

MCAT: 28M (V:8,P:10,B:10, W:M)

Experience:
-2 years of clinical research with a neurologist in a local hospital
-1 published research article in Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences
-1 accepted research article in European Neurology
-3 more research projects are under review and consideration
-4 months of international volunteer experience in vocational training (I taught computer skills) in Pakistan
-4 months of basic research on S.aureus (a bacterium) with a immunologist and microbiologist at an university affiliated research institution
-Member of the organizing committee of Models of Human Diseases (a research-based international conference held in Toronto for biomedical professionals)
-Local university experience: volunteer with International Student Center, Muslim Student Association (prayer room maintenance and accommodations for all religions)
-Local mosque volunteering

With this, I applied to 4 schools in Ontario (the only ones that would allow you to with only 2 years of undergrad under you belt). I have not received any interview.

The question is: where am I going wrong? How can I update this to suit the med schools?

This year I am going to Singapore for international research experience for the summer. I am not sure if I should do it or not. Would you suggest it?

Tell you the truth: I am confused: 😕
