I have been in college for a while with a two year break in between. I started college in 2004 and was part-time for most of the time because I worked almost fulltime. So I graduated with a BA in Biology in 2010. I was always pre-med, but I realized I don't think I want to do that. Worked in pharmaceutical decided I prefer Chemistry but not sure what next. I did need to fix my GPA before I decide on a grad school. I had graduated with a cumulative of 2.46 from GMU. I enrolled in VCU for Fall 2012 and I am getting a BS in Science with concentration in Chemistry. I got this year left with lots of room for re-takes if I need to. Which is my real question. Here are my grades:

Community College from 2004-2007 I have these pre-reqs:
- Bio I/lab : B
- Bio II/lab: C
- Speech: A
- Sociology I: B
- Sociology II: B
- Japanese: B
- Arabic 201: A
- English I: C
- English II: B
- Literature: A
- Plan Biology/lab: C
- Pre-calc I: C
- Psychology: F [I was stupid and withdrew after withdraw date, not realizing you get an F. I retook this at VCU]
- Finite Math: D [will not retake this because it doesn't exist at VCU]
- Cell Biology: C [retook at VCU. No difference..sadly]
- American History: B
- African American History: A
- Computer: A

George Mason from 2007-2010.
- Chemistry I/lab: C- [retook this at VCU]
- General Chemistry II/lab: C+
- Orgo I Lec: C- [retook at VCU]
- Microbiology Lecture: C
- Microbiology Lab: C+
- Animal Biology/lab: C
- Histology/lab: C
- Ecology/lab: C
- HIV/AIDS: B
- Genetics/lab: D [ will retake this at VCU, of course]
- Advanced Physiology: D [my excuse: never took regular physiology before, I can't retake that same level at VCU, I can only take the easier one]
- Molecular Genetics: C [funny is I took this before genetics...??!]
- Vaccines: C+
- Physics I: C+ [No lab, so I'm taking the class and lecture at VCU because they come together]
- Intro to Stat: C+ or C .. I forgot
- Astronomy: B [yes, random]
- Arabic 301: A-
- Arabic 302: A
- Advanced English Comp: B-
- Advanced French: C+
- Microbial Gene Expression seminar [1 credit]: A

VCU Fall 2012 - May 2015

- Organic Chem I lecture: C
- Organic Chem I lab: B
- General Chemistry I Lecture: C
- General Chemistry I lab: B
- Criminal Justice: A
- Organic Chemistry II: C
- Organic Chemistry II lab: A
- Pre-calc: B
- Physics II/lab: B
- Biochemistry: D [will repeat in fall]
- Calc I: D [I didn't study for final, failed it.. Had a bad semester. will repeat and I can get an A.]
- Cell Bio: C [I suck at bio..it's been confirmed]
- Psychology: B
- Calc II: B
- Quantitative Analysis chemistry lab: B
- Quantitative Analysis Chemistry lec: taking it now.. not looking good.

Conclusion, I plan to definitely retake: Biochem, calc I and genetics. I need anatomy and physiology. So what else should I retake? Does every school need Microeconomics? Is it in my favor to apply to schools that only accept science classes from 5 years of application time? cuz that would mean only VCU science courses count.

Non academic background:
I am 28 divorcee and have A LOT of work experience: 5 years managed pediatrics medical office, 1.5 years autopsy experience in hospital, two months pharmaceutical project coordinator [quit early because i was in an abusive marriage and needed to leave canada], and currently working as an ER registrar for a year. I speak 3 languages and lived in multiple places [Algeria, Saudi, Canada and America], so i got lots of diversity. I know I can get a pcat score of 80% minimum for sure. Keeping all that in mind, should I attempt to apply for pharmacy admission Fall 2015 or wait for the following year?

ANY advice is great! I appreciate the help in advance.

my advice is that you really need to slow down. You are rushing to do everything at once and that is not good. You seem confused and lack of clear direction, priorities, and focus. You might also need to figure out your personal situation.

Slow down !! As your records still show a downtrend from CC to a university then another university, you should take one small step at a time. Seriously. Try to take 1 or 2 hard classes and some fillers and get good grades first. Then build momentum and roll from there. GL !! 🙂
