I'm going to start an away rotation at a prgoram I'm extremely interested in. I'm going to try and meet with the program director while there....but my question is....should I put on a suit for that meeting? Or just show up in my shirt/tie/slacks+white coat combo?

I had a similar meeting at an away rotation last month and we were both wearing scrubs. I would just wear whatever you have on for work that day unless it's considered a formal interview for a residency spot.

I probably wouldn't plan on a suit, but it's important to put your best professional self forward. If you are able to know in advance the day of the meeting, I'd wear a shirt, tie, white coat to work that day. If you happen to know the TIME of the meeting, I'd take the time to leave the OR and change from your scrubs. Often, though, I'd guess that the date and time won't be known in advance and you'll just catch each other as you can, in which case you'll have no choice but to wear scrubs (or whatever you're wearing at the time).

Just where what you have on. But also make sure you look professional. Such as, if you're a guy, shave, have a good haircut/combed hair, scrubs tucked in, good sleep, etc.
