Hey guys, so I have my first interview coming up in a few weeks, and I'm getting a suit for the interview.

I was wondering what was more appropriate for an interview, classic fit or slim fit? And when I say slim fit, I mean slim fit, not tight-fit.

Anyway, I'm not trying to be 😎 or anything, but slim fit suits fits my body more. With that said, I'm also only 21 and I feel like a slim fit suit (nicely tailored to my body) would make me look young and also professional at the same time. I feel classic fits for too baggy, especially for someone my age.

Any opinions on this? I'm really stumped 😕

Also... Navy Blue / Black, which one?

Thanks!

Appreciate the link. I've actually read through it before, and talks a lot about the color of the suit (and a lot of debate and talking about being lawyers...anyway!) and looking like Barney Stinson, but none of them talk about classic fit vs. slim fit.

Slim ties were mentioned, but not the suit fit itself.

Anyone else have any ideas/opinions?

If a slim fit suit fits you properly, then a classic fit will look terrible on you. Go with the suit that fits you best. Dress more professional by wearing a more conservative tie and shirt.

A proper suit is one which conforms to your body.

Classic fit... slim fit... ultra slim... modern fit... mafioso fit...

Who gives two dimes what they call it as long as it fulfills the criteria stated above.

If you are a skinny dude... you will want a suit which is cut so that it complements your body shape. If you get some random suit from macy's, whose prototype is probably your average american... it will look like a potato sack. You'll give off the impression that you are the kid brother trying to fill his big brother's gorgeous looking suit. If i was the interviewer and I saw your gorgeous suit... why would I want you when I can be looking for your big bro who looks better than you in that suit?

If you are a football player and you've got massive thighs, please do not try to squeeze your manly self into a dior suit.

It's all about dressing appropriately. Finding a proper suit fit is similar to wearing the correct shoe size. Catch my drift?

I'd go with the slim fit. A huge part of a good suit is that you feel good in it, and that makes you confident. So as long as it's nothing too flashy or anything, the suit you feel you look best in is probably the best choice.

Go slim/athletic fit but don't wear flashy colors. I wouldn't do skinny ties b/c it looks more informal, but if it weighs heavily on ur mind go for it. Get your suit tailored to your body type! You'll get good thoughts from adcoms and fine ladies you meet if you do all this 👍.

You can wear a slimmer tie if it fits your body type. Although I do see some absurdly skinny ones floating around the market who I haven't seen ANYONE able to pull it off...
