For those taking/studying for the DAT, which is the most time-consuming section to study for. Could you provide a breakdown of your study time:

For example, about two-thirds of my study time was on Ochem and very little time on QR. Or something like that.

Thanks.

PAT consumes about 2/3 of the time. The other 1/3 are for bio and orgo since I forgot some of the parts. Especially bio because it covers such a broad spectrum.

Edit: of course this depends on each student's background. I am strong on the science side but have never seen PAT, so I put more time there.

Well it varies by person because YOU have to identify your weaknesses. What's the point of studying your strong points. I would take a practice test and see your weaknesses and start from there OR you can take the sample studyguide and start from there.

My time is 40% biology, 20% PAT, 30% GC and OC, 10% math. Haven't spent any time on RC but I will do 2 or 3 practice tests the week before the test.

Thanks. Yes, I realize it may vary among students but I would like to get a general idea of what people spend the most time on. Appreciate your responses!!!

Yes, it definitely varies. I would say mine is about 25% bio, 25% gchem, 25% ochem, and the other 25% PAT/QR... haven't done too much besides practice exams for RC.

Take practice tests early to see where you are weak. I took my first practice test the day before my exam and I didn't have enough time to really fix my weakest problem (QR)

I split most of my time between Gen Chem, Bio, Orgo and PAT. Probably about 25% each. I think one or two practice exams are going to be enough for RC. Time management seems to be the most important thing in RC.

50% bio
25% gchem
10% QR
10% PAT
4% Ochem
1% RC (in four or five months of studying I took one practice RC test)

100% fear and trembling
