So I have a choice of the following:
Organic I and II
Physics I and II
3 Biology Courses (2 upper bio, 1 microbiology)

I thought the last option would be the most appealing to the admissions committee since I'd get the most courses done and all I'd have left to do during the year is Orgo and Physics. But then I thought that maybe Orgo and Physics hold more weight than biology classes/general education electives and I should do one of those. But if I do one of those, I have to do more classes during the year in the admissions period.

So what is the correct reasoning here, more classes done = better? or less but hard classes = better? Also if I chose one from Orgo or Physics, it'd probably be physics since in my opinion Orgo will be way harder to squeeze in the summer. But I'd rather do the last option if it doesn't matter what I do (the bio classes). And regarding PCAT, I'm self studying orgo with a tutor so I don't need the classes except to do them for requirements.

Thanks for any responses

If you are going to get A's whether you take it in the summer or during the school year Biology would be the best. I find most people do better in Organic in the summer. Although some may say they frown on taking it during the summer, I think a better grade is more worth it.

My friends that took Orgo in the summer pretty much hated their lives because it was so time consuming

BUT

they ended up with better grades in the end. They said it really worked out well not to have to to focus on anything other than orgo.

The consensus I get from my other peers is that they would rather mix organic chemistry and biology than organic and physics. And while I understand you are trying to do classes in the summer to try and get them out of the way for the school year, remember they are compressed versions of the actual class thus more information to consume and a shortened amount of time. My point being quality over quantity. Higher grades in two courses instead of just okay grades in three courses. (I'm sure this all depends too on your schedule situation and when you plan to complete everything)

I did Calculus over the summer and got a better grade because of it. Yes it will consume all your time for 6 or 8 weeks, but once you're done, you're done. I would do Organic because it is crucial that you do well in it. Physics is an intro course, so taking that through the year (I assume) shouldn't be that difficult. Then you can focus on the upper level bio courses more over the semester.

I agree with this. Take Organic over the summer so you can give all of your attention to it, and intro Physics is pretty easy..just really boring, in my opinion 🙂

Thanks guys for all the responses. I decided to do orgo, since physics isn't really hard, and it is just boring, lol, you're right. I'll study now with a tutor for orgo so I can get a good grade hopefully and get it over with in the summer. It's probably the most useful way to spend my time out of all the other classes. Thanks for all the responses.
