I'm teaching stats to fourth year undergraduates in an honours' thesis course. Recently, one of the "more with it" students interrupted my lecture on multifactorial ANOVA and asked me to go over the difference between means and standard deviations...the entire class nodded that they would like to know....I wish I was kidding...

I would post every day if it wasn't for the teaching, my own two courses, data collection, comprehensive paper, journal paper 1 and 2, part-time job, grant applications and family 🙂
Don't you miss graduate school 😉

JON: We are definitely NOT overrated...this isn't the place for a football fight, BUT I will simply say "Go Irish.....Beat Volunteers" Unlike Tennessee, we've actually been able to beat top 10 teams (and cmon...coming within 3 points of USC is the best any team has done this season). Hmmmm...quarterback consistently passes for almost 500 yards, breaking school records like crazy....not overrated!

Was going to say the same thing, but you beat me to it, twiggers. that was fun yesterday!

Not his fault that some of our opps suck...although thinking back to the beginning of the season, almost all of our games were against ranked teams (several in the top 10)...and all but USC we have beaten (Spartans weren't ranked then).
Look at individual stats of our offense (and even some of our defense like Zbikowski) and we kick butt 🙂

Oh cmon.....USC is by far the toughest team in college football (OK Texas people...you guys are great too). We came within 3 points, and showed how much Leinart needs to grow. Who else this year has come close to beating USC????????

Our defense is ranked quite low and yet we still put up a great fight against USC...noone even expected us to be potentially finishing the season 9-2.

We'll see what next year brings!

Ok, Ok, I'm an ND grad, my father is also, I've been a follower of their football team since I was 2 years old.

Yes, we have a great offense. Yes, we are sort of overrated since our opponents suck (highest ranked 2 loss team for some reason). Yes our defense is terrible other than a few standouts. USC is not the best team in the country.

Our BCS ranking speaks more to our quality as a team.

Let's either start a football thread or get back on topic.
