I gotta be serious with ya....Labtop is something very rare....a legend..you hardly see it in the shop. as far as popularity....I just hope the machine doesn't bite. :meanie:

I have heard this term referring to what we call "laptops". I am not sure if this helps but I know that one of the earlier uses for laptops (which is a computing sitting at the top of ones lap) was for the movement from one lab to another lab in working situations. So many of the earlier laptop users call their computers "labtops". I am not sure if this is correct in your situation, hope I have helped!

i think i'll step in and defend anyone who might mispell words on a fourm...

LEAVE US ALONE... WE'RE SPECIAL TOO!

if the person meant labtop then that's fine and i don't stand behind them....

but....

bad spellers of the world untie!

skp  ,
If you've read my post I told everyone that I’m not really computer literate 😀 . However, I know that bad spelling doesn't constitute my lack of computer knowledge so, I will concede and I apologize for offending you and the other spelling champs 😀 .

the worst part is... i didn't notice it either....

i don't read things very closely

although now that the threads were merged...it looks like skp can't spell 😱 😛

My favorite labtop is called "Durcon", and is made of a molded epoxy resin. It is monolithic and non-porous, and therefore will not delaminate or swell.

If you ever called tech support for Dell, IBM, or Gateway, you will find out that there's no such thing as a laptop either. They don't support using their notebooks on your lap because of the heat that is generated when you block a cooling vent...in fact I found out the hard way that it can actually invalidate the warranty (IBM at least) if you tell them that you felt it overheating on your lap before it broke. Should have told them it was overheating my lab instead.
