Members don't see this ad.
this is stated on the AMCAS application:

"2. MCAT Scores: AMCAS sends scores from any MCAT exams you have taken within the last three years to each of your designated medical schools with your AMCAS application."

I thought that if u take the MCAT before the year 2003 they are not allowed to release the score without permission, just the fact that you took it.

can some one clear this up pls.
thanks.

They will release all scores from all tests unless you voided your test before leaving the test center.

There is no picking or chosing. If you do worse on a second test than on a first one.... well, that's the chance you take. If you do better on the second test, that is a plus with the adcoms

I think that clause is their way of saying that MCATs more than three years old are no longer "valid" or reportable, not that if you used the no-release option that existed prior to 2003, your scores won't be released.

Just realize, if you withhold a score ad-coms will assume that it's bad, so it doesn't do you much good unless your score was not merely bad, but atrocious.

Chikantikka, you need to CHILL OUT! All your posts have been sounding so stressed! Seriously, the process isn't as bad as you think it might be ... don't take everything so seriously and I'm sure you will get into a fine medical school.

Ya, Dara is right. Just take it all in stride cause if you dont it will drive you crazy by the end of it.

As far as the mcat thing goes...I Think they will release anything from the past five years. But, do call ACMAS if you are concerned about it.

My 2 cents.

they will release any mcat that you have taken in three years, but don't be too stressed about it, i mean, how many could you have possibly sat through? if you took one before it's not that big a deal, lots of people take the mcat more than once. take a deep breath and everything will be ok.
