DYING trying to find a way to study physics efficiently.

Ive watched Chads videos (Coursesaver), tried reading out of the Kaplan book (got boring), watched other videos on Youtube, took Chads quizzes, and STILL scoring 200 on practice tests from Kaplan.

This is because the questions Im getting asked on the practice tests are WAY harder than Chads quizzes are so I'm not finding his quizzes very helpful...
Also, memorizing the equations isn't enough. Even understanding the concepts isn't enough. You have to figure out how to put everything together for every kind of example they might throw at you.

I feel like I'm getting absolutely nowhere with this subject :arghh::arghh::dead:
Need advice :scared:

Its ok, stay calm. One thing you should keep in mind is that the practice tests are usually harder than the actual OAT. They make them that way so you over prepare (which is a good thing). If you are looking for more review of concepts I would suggest Cracking the OAT (it is an amazing resource for OAT physics).

If you have time I would also suggest going through the practice test questions slowly and without a time limit. Just relax and try to get through the problems that way. After you've built up some confidence then start taking practice tests under timed conditions again. (Also, note that occasionally books make mistakes. I found that Kaplan's small OAT book had a few mistakes in the physics section that made getting the correct answer impossible, but these mistakes are few and far between).

I found Kaplans questions total garbage when it comes down to physics. In all honestly I used physics quizes from chads videos and just reviewed question scenarios from Kaplan without the calculations. It worked quite well for me, pulled of a 380 in physics. OAT focuses on a lot of conceptual based knowledge with minor calculations. Sometimes you'll see a question and go wow how do I even do this. But if you just apply everything you know in a calm and collected manner most of the time you'll get it right .

So I'm taking my test on Wednesday and have also been struggling with physics. I'm taking a prep course with Dr. Romano who wrote the Destroyer books- his physics tutor consistently talks to students about what shows up, the level of difficulty etc. and highly reccomended doing Ap Physics exams. I've been working through them and the calculations and fair and there's a lot of conceptual questions as well to practice with. It definitively gives you a peace of mind with more realistic questions and calculations. I highly reccomend it!

Thank you all for your responses. I recently took the ADA practice exam and it's much much easier than Kaplans so I feel a little better now.
