ATM a junior and taking honors chem. Finished first quarter with 83% and will admit didn't pay too much attention in class and have to pick it up. Next year I really want to take an AP in a science. In my school it is a 80% in honors to take AP next year. What % you think one should have in a honors class to take AP next year and be able to adjust to workload?

This literally is an impossible question to answer. So many factors involved! I guess 80% sounds good, depending on the difficulty of the honors class?

I personally did not think there was much difference between honors and AP workload. AP does take some extra time, and for those who did not study for exams in high school, you will have to actually study for the AP exam. If you can do well in honors classes (high B or A), then you should be fine. The actual AP exam is weighted against all others who took it that year, so you can to terrible in the class at your school and ace the AP exam. I know people who said their AP class was a joke and failed (less than three at most schools (AP is scored on a 1 to 5 scale, 5 being the highest)).

As long as you can do well in your normal honors classes, then you should be fine for the AP class.
