A few people last cycle had little black folders with papers in them. I'm assuming they had notes of talking points as a few of my friends had done that. What else would you put in there, and how would you go about looking at talking points and not being rude?

I didn't bring anything other than my purse, and I don't remember others bringing anything else either. So I wouldn't worry about it!

I only took a composition notebook in my purse to take notes and write down important information about the program. Some programs provide all the information at the interview but not all.
No need to stress about talking points, you may want to take some questions you want to get clarification on though.

I had an interview today and brought a leather folder/portfolio (with built in legal pad for notes, and pocket for resumes) and a small, nice purse for keys/wallet/phone.

Several people at my interview were carrying around their keys and phones in hands and it looked awkward and unprofessional; it's the little details that can make a difference!

I had two interviews, one that I was accepted for and one that I wasn't. I brought a notebook with me to the interview, and I liked that I had it. I took notes as they were discussing the curriculum. Also, before the interview, I wrote down some talking points and questions for the interviewer on the 3rd page of the notebook. That way, it looked like I had just jotted those notes during the interview. Who knows if that helped but it made me feel better and more prepared

I brought a folder to mine, but I noticed a LOT of people brought leather portfolios. You can get them at Target for really cheap!
