What to do after taking a practice test?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Then, on the following day, review your test.
Yeah relax the day you take a practice test (maybe some content review, but >3 hours post finishing your test). I'd review it the following day.

I like reviewing 1 day after taking a FL. I am much more refreshed and I still remember what my thought process was (from 24 hours earlier), so it works out

I do test review the day after. I go question by question (right or wrong) and see if the reason my answer is correct was why i chose that answer. I log each test in a notebook, and if i missed a question or chose an answer right for the wrong reasons (or if I feel my understanding of a concept is still just a bit shakey) I will mark a bullet point in the notebook and correct my train of thought.

Ooh good point, spyderracing. I also mark in a Word document (Error Analysis charts) listing the section, the topic (for example, Electrostatics), and the reason I missed the question (didn't know content, didn't know equation, didn't apply knowledge, didn't use passage figure/information). That way I can analyze which mistakes I am making frequently and correct that for future practice tests.

Important aspect of what to do post-practice tests. Also if you don't want to do it ni a notebook or a Word document, you can use AAMC's convenient function where you can pick a "why you missed it" reason in a scrollbar underneath each missed question (check for it when reviewing practice exams).

I always took like an hour break (espn.com, facebook.com, etc.), then go over the whole thing. Especially in verbal, I feel even one day and I may not remember everything as well. Plus, I frequently took practice tests like three days in a row, then spent a day of heavy content review. I also reviewed content on practice test days. It depends how much time you have left until you take your real MCAT.

No matter how long you wait to review your test, make sure you completely review everything, right or wrong. Your practice tests are worthless if you keep making the same mistakes.
