School hasn't even started for me yet but I just wanted to get some wisdom and advices from all you pharmacy sages out there 😉

I don't know where in pharmacy I'm headed for, but I want to try out all the different options out there.

Do you think commuting to school (1 hour each way), pulling a weekend retail job, working weekday night shifts at a hospital, being involved in several professional organizations (ASHP/CSHP, NCPA, and APhA), and volunteering at health fairs once or twice a month can work out? After looking at P1 schedule and hearing so many things like "you never sleep in pharmacy school" I'm kinda scared to do bunch of activities. But at the same time, I don't want to limit myself from all the opportunities out there. Back in undergrad, I was a shy individual with a mediocre GPA and that gave me a hard time in getting into pharm school so I learned my lesson to get involved.

If you guys have anything to share about what to do in pharm school besides studying and doing the usual things please feel free to comment!

I was never involved in high school. You should pace yourself. Join one or two things in the fall semester and try and join something else in the spring. The opportunities are immense. Don't jump into everything all at once or you'll drown.

Sounds like you want to do something big in pharmacy school... In my opinion, it is better to be exposed to a couple of the different sides of pharmacy at the beginning and then narrow it down as the years progress... a good way to do it is to make the effort to talk to the P2/P3s... They should be able to help a lot...
