What exactly can you do before amcas opens up. I mean a lot of people suggested writing the activities portion, but besides that and the PS, what else is there really to do? thanks!

If you're in such a hurry you might as well begin studying for the Step 1 and fitting yourself for your white coat. I recommend just calming down, everyone has a month after it opens before they can submit it anyway...

Make sure your PS is ready or almost ready and make sure your LORs are lined up. That's basically it. Enjoy the calm before the storm.

You can write the activities descriptions, the personal statement, make sure you have contact information for every activity you list and have your LORs ready to send.

Send your transcript once you can print off the required form, copy and paste your other info, and then fill out all the other stuff.

To help with the grades and courses section, you may want to order a transcript for yourself. That makes entering in everything much easier.

Our prehealth office had us write a couple common secondary prompts like 'Describe a difficult challenge that you overcame and how you did it' and '(Generic we value diversity statement) What diversity will you bring to the class?'.

Surprisingly very helpful to have those 2 essays for secondaries already.

I took a look at previous years' essay prompts from the schools that I was applying to and wrote up sketch essays for them in general terms and then modified those essays when I got the actual secondary from the school. I'm the type of person who needs some time to write and edit my work, so this markedly shortened the turnaround from getting a secondary to turning it in.
