So I am currently enrolled at Emory University and I am on track to graduate in May of 2014 with a BA in Chemistry. I have completed both my general chemistry and biology requirements, and I will finish organic and physics next year. My GPA is around a 3.5, with a 3.4-3.5 BCPM GPA. I'm an African-American male, and a Texas resident. I took a practice MCAT in March (with no organic or physics knowledge) and scored a 26 on the AAMC 3--which is the average for AA's I believe.
There is an issue, however. I just recently turned 18 in May. If I apply to medical school, I'd be doing so around my 19th birthday. Is there a good chance that I could get in, or should I consider other options? Sitting at home and volunteering for a year isn't an option, either.
**Btw, MD/DO are both options. It doesn't matter.
