What to do when volunteering

Hello, this is my first time volunteering and i am doing it at a family medicine private practice. Can you give me some ideas on what to do there to make the best out of the volunteering experience?

You can only do as much as they allow you to, and you won't find out what that is until you get there (unless you have already spoken with them). I hope you have fun and find volunteering a meaningful experience, but just remember that though you may want to do big things, the position may not allow for it...observe, meet new connections, and work hard.

Stay out of the way when the doc is doing something important. Ask questions when the doc isn't busy.
Try to be helpful if they ask you for something.
