I am wait-listed at a few schools right now, and I was wondering what are some things I can do before the school year starts to get my name going in their ADCOM meetings. Should i call or email them every two weeks or is that too excessive? Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks

every 2 weeks seems a bit EXCESSIVE. if someone kept calling me every 2 weeks for a decision that i said i would need some time in making, i would get super ANNOYED.
i think that every 2 weeks could cause annoyance......just send a letter of intent. and maybe follow up at the end of the every month?? (if u dont hear from them sooner). or maybe try to talk/find somebody really influential/important to contact who would remember you from an interview perhaps and put in a good word for you?

I think 2 weeks is fine. The adcom decide on waitlist movement on a more frequent level as people reject their offers, those who seem more interested in going to that school that are on the waitlist MAY have a advantage over those who dont show as much interest. I guess it depends what school it is, but it would make sense that if you keep a consistent contact with that school ( once every 2 weeks is not annoying IMO), then you might have a better chance getting off the waitlist. GOODLUCK

I would never ever email... I just hate emails when its something this personal and this important.

Calling every 2-weeks is.....okay. It shows you really want that school, but do they answer when you call? I can't find the thread, but there was a post here on SDN where one dental student suggested to call the schools you are wait-listed at because some keep track of those calls, it shows the student is interested in the school.... I think Nova does this (not sure tho)

What would you even say to them every 2 wks?

You ask them where you are at on their waitlist, if there will be any movement soon, and let them know that they are still your number one school. It's the idea that continued interest on your part will give you a better shot at getting in.

I hate this waiting game. There is nothing else that's quite like it. April 15th cannot come fast enough.

my girlfriend broke up with me because she said that im not the same person anymore because i constantly think about the waitlist, and i myself hate thinking about it.

I'm sorry man. People who don't work as hard as us, don't get it.

What were you guys stats that are wanting to get into Oklahoma? GPA DAT ?

She probably want to meet all the new guys. That is one lame reason.

ur ex girlfriends a BLEEEEEEEP
bc that is a weird ***** reason to breakup with someone.

If it's a ranked waitlist, try to convince your buddies who are already in to attend elsewhere 😀

Haha. Sorry about all your girlfriends guys. But honestly, they are probably just using that as an excuse. Don't think they really love you. At least you found out before you invest any more time in them.
