Hi

Just got my result for part 1... i got 86... i am so confused as to what to do. Its not very rewarding at all.🙁

hi winnepeg,
dont be sad, the score you got is not very competitive but you never know, i know people who got into programs with much lower scores, including myself, but that is a stroke of luck and chance or if you hav something outstanding in your resume or SOP that can outshine your score,so see what you have in your application, your toefl, gpa, work exp, strong SOP , good interview skills,GC, any research work or further studies in US,brush up on everything that you can, and send out your best application to all the schools you can now, and start studiyng to retake part 1, if u get any interviews, make your best effort to crack it, pray hard, put in your best , but what is very imp is to keep studying to retake........and do it ASAP coz higher the scor ebetter are your chances to get in.good luck

chances are slim..but yes as godbless said if u have anything else which is very exceptional in ur appli..like research work, publications, work ex..etc..u may have a chance...

if not..u shld retake..esp if u r an Indian.

Ya, am an Indian... did from manipal in 2003. My gpa is 3.6 and next week is my toefl. I have 8 in IELTS but that is of no use for states i know.

u might have a chance in NYU...dont know about other univs.
apply fast as NYU has preponed its deadline..i guess now it is in Jan.

go thro' the acceptance thread of this year. U will get a picture urself as to where u stand.

even if u have a slightest chance go ahead and try...

If unfortunately u dont get in..u may re take..
ur GPA is good..get a good toefl score...if u have more on ur appli. like work ex, papers presented ,research work,etc..u do have a chance.

all u have to do is try...
good luck!

hi,
the places where you wud hav a chance and must apply are NYU and UMICH ,NOVA .most other deadlines are over.........your gpa is good, but probably mentioning IELTS wud go agianst you, so keet it under wraps......bring out other highlights in your resume, if nothing, work as a DA to add on your resume, build up a strong SOP, and go ahead and apply.........but studying at the same time for a retake wud help you in the long run, today i regret not retaking my part 1 in time and i wish somone had told me this at the right time, keep applying and studying at the same time, this is very imp

hi winnipeg,
dont lose hope . try try till u suceed
hardwork always pay

hi buddy

you stand a good chance in NYU with you GPA thats great..so apply realllllllll quick..they have preponed the deadline..and keep calling them and see to that you send all the scores directly to NYU..good luck

Hi winnipeg,
Don't loose your hopes!
Your score is good for some school, you must try to apply and see what happens. If you are not confident take a break, relax and then try the board again. You have experienced once so next time will be much powerfull. I'm pretty sure you'll get the score you want, just continuu to believe in yourself!
Good luck!

hey winnipeg,
I gave my exam in oct and scored 85. I know its disheartening that you study so hard but still are not able to get 90+. After my exam, I was so upset that I even thought of not pursuing my dentistry any more. But at the end thats where I belong . I have decided to give my exam again motivating myself that now I am just 5 points away from 90. I would say take a break and then you can think of giving another shot.

Well my GPA is 3.66 and i was thinking if i could write part two before re-writting part one as my next exam is in may which is canadian exam which is predominantly part two. In the mean time i will apply to NYU and see

Hi winnipeg, Part II option is better, as i was in the same situation last year, i got 87, and then i took part II and i got so many interivew calls because of part II. in fact you have better gpa, so go ahead for part II exam.
