I just started preparing for the pcat in january with the help of the kaplan book. While I was reading over the chemistry, there seemed to me to have a lot of complicated equation problems. SO my question is what to do?😕 Should I memorize every equation or just know the basic concepts.
Also, can you guys give me some common equations that will most likely show up on the pcat; that would be of so much help.

In addition, what is the average amount of studying done to prepare for this exam?? ex. months and hours in a day. Thanks.🙂

Are you talking about the common organic chemistry reactions? (SNs, Es, hydrogenations, etc.). You probably won't need to spend time looking into the complicated aromatic ring substitution variants, but the main first semester reactions are good to remember as you may encounter problems asking you for the product of a given reaction.

Study time varies depending on the retention of information by each student. It's a matter of how quickly you can recall the chemistry information. The longer the time it take for you to do it, the more study time that you probably need.
