What to take to UC Davis Pre-Health Conference?

Another premed recently told me he was bringing resumes to hand out. Is this the norm?

I am a current applicant and am attending mostly for the opportunity to meet admissions people. I'm having decent success this cycle, but I'm a California resident and am hoping to network with California schools. Should I bring copies of my AMCAS app?

It is more for gathering information and potentially networking. I do not think bringing your AMCAS app would be appropriate, but maybe a copy or two of your resume if a booth is accepting them could be okay (but I do not think that is the norm).

My thinking was that the amcas app is basically a long resume. And the only people I'd give it to are schools to which I've applied.

I agree it feels weird and am leaning toward not doing it.

Second question. What about attending with my premise in mind? My thinking is that it wouldn't be a bad thing if adcoms are able to put a face to an application. Might this not go over well at a conference that is mainly about gathering information?

In a pool of so many it's unlikely you'll be able to stand out. Just go with an open mind and enjoy it. It's about learning, not self-promoting.

The conference has downsized in recent years so I can't speak with certainty but from a couple years prior the answer to your question would be yes. Most of the workshops were headed by a wide range of physicians and healthcare professionals (very often deans/associate deans) and they had a fair which would have a ton of health professional school representatives.
