I'm not talking about an interview to dental school or residency....what should I wear to an interview with a dentist at his office for an associate position. I was thinking a suit might be too much if I am following him around the office all day. I was thinking more along the lines of a shirt and tie. What do you guys think...Is a shirt and tie sufficient or should i go with a suit?

I would agree with a shirt/tie/slacks combo, especially if you are going to be following him around and not just doing a short interview at his desk.

You got a plain regular sit down and talk interview?! You are lucky. It must be an east coast thing. In California, many practices do working interviews where they try you out for a day or so to see how fast, efficient, and competent you are as a dentist. If they like what they see, then they'll hire you. Count yourself lucky that you have a regular interview. Some people have all the luck.
