Hi,

Could you please help me with background settings for an online interviews for medical school? I plan to conduct my interviews in a studio room with either:

1. Blank wall behind me OR
2. Studio kitchen behind me (nice and clean)

I would like to keep my current arrangement with the kitchen behind me. But I am concerned if adcom will see that as unprofessional, and whether I should change my desk arrangement to have a blank wall behind me.

Thank you!
The less distracting, the better. The only real non-no is a window in the back that glares you out.

You should be well lit from in front rather than behind. Plain wall or backdrop helps as long as you don't blend into the background. Even if you do a virtual background, keep it plain and simple. Don't wear solid green.
