What type of questions to ask in an interview

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anything to find out if the school is right for you. This is your opportunity to learn more about the school and any concerns that you may have.

All i can say is dont ask stupid ones!!! Seriously many people shot themselves in the foot by asking if schools do research while the school acutally does very little. Thus making you look like you haven't researched the school. This research questions was asked like three to four times, till finally the interviewer said "this is not a research instution!!!"

Do the research on the school, find out what you want out of your education there. Then try to find some open-ended questions to ask. Try to be and attentive listener and ask questions during the talks. Especially if its the dean talking, interupt and ask, this will make you stand out. But again dont ask stupid questions like, whats the cost to go here!! They will get to it. More like what does a particular fee covers?

I dont know i think people were nervous and asked some pretty basic questions that could have been answered by a look at the website or brochure.

Interrupt the dean?!?! I would be nervous about doing this. You're not trying to weed out the competition are you Boop? 😀

each person who post, post one question u would ask during an interview.

Okay, so this is a question about a type of question. Is it okay to ask, in addition to questions about the school, questions about what the area is like around the school? Example: "I'm from out of the area, is it safe for students who live off-campus to walk or ride their bikes to school?" or something to that effect?

"Why don't all pharmacy schools in the US have the same standardized admission requirement/pre-requisites to make it easier for the students when they apply to pharmacy schools?"

No the the above^^^^

-I guess i came off the wrong way, i ment like make statement or question that would pose the dean to ask your name or at least be like "thats a good question"

-Dont try to come off too scripted just be natural and yourself?

-Asking questions are the least of your worries during the interview, you should be more worried about the questions they ask YOU!!!

I think if you research the website and then state that you saw what ever it was on the website and that you are very interested in it and ask them to maybe go more indepth about it for you whould be a very good question. Asking what they feel makes the best pharmacy student is also a very good question.
