Mine consisted of instant noodles, chips, hard boiled eggs, rice, and anything microwaveable from a can.

MCAT- wonderful college food.
Step 1- jerky, tea and Christmas cookies.
Step 2- anything I can put in my pocket during rotations.

Pizza. A **** ton of pizza. Oh and Mountain Dew.

Whatever I felt like cooking that day. A lot of chicken dishes and salads

I don't know, but I do know you need to have all your major food groups on test day: Fats, Salt, Sugar, and Caffeine. My test day diet consisted of a 4-pack of Red Bull, a small pack of Oreos, a bag of potato chips, and a jar of hummus. Each break = 1 Red Bull, two cookies, and a few chips with hummus. Perfect combo #528

In all seriousness, I did take diet into account but only about 2 weeks before the test. I was testing different breakfasts during my practice exams, to see if what I ate mattered. I found that for me, a decently sized breakfast was best, not too little to make me hungry and not too much to make me sleepy. I had 2 eggs on toast with hot chocolate lol (no caffeine because it made me more likely to stress out). I’m sure Greek yogurt and fruit, or ham and egg, all would have been fine. Not a bad idea to test out for yourself

I found that eating too much before and during the 30 min break can make me tired. So during the real test, I ate a quarter of a snack bar before and during the break. I actually saw significant improvements in concentration and scores.

This for me too! I had minimal food on breaks. This was only possible because I had such a good breakfast.

Does carb loading on the morning of the exam help or hinder you?

What about a cup of coffee on the morning of the exam?

Garbage in, garbage out. Feed your brain a balanced diet!

La Favorita microwaveable burritos and like $1million dollars worth of carry out pad thai. I seriously blew so much money on pad thai but somehow I got convinced that it helped me focus and I ate it like every day.

Ended up eating pad thai on the mcat lunch break (even though no one else seemed to eat anything). I had to eat so fast though I think I legitimately scratched the back of my throat. I didn't notice until after the test (that adrenaline is real), but my throat hurt for a few days.

I tried to exercise 4-5 times a week. It especially helped after a stressful 6+ hours of studying

I used to eat peanut butter sandwiches, greek yogurt and black coffee then snack on peanuts. I'm so glad I am not allergic to peanuts. That's literally my only protein source whenever I can't afford Greek yogurt.

I just ate 9 fig newtons because of this thread. I wanted 10, but 9 was the point that I felt shame...

also... why is my set point for shame 9 fig newtons?
