This is what were up against. From the front page of the Maryland Association of Nuse Anesthetist. http://www.crnasofmd.org/

Grassroots Lobbying

Now is the time to get active! Anesthesiologist Assistants are seeking licensure in Maryland via a Bill introduced by Johns Hopkins University. SB 798 must be defeated! Contact your local delegate and let them know that you oppose this bill and encourage others to do so as well. This is the future of our practice! Be on the lookout for automated phone calls to your home that can directly connect you to Senate offices and for lobbying packets in the mail. Keep anesthesia safe in Maryland!

CRNAs Meet With Senate EHE Committee Members

On Tuesday February 24th, The MANA Board met with members of the Maryland Senate EHE Committee including Senator Joan Carter Conway who is introducing SB 798. An excellent discussion was had and MANA extends a sincere thank you to all the Senators who took the time to attend

I will certainly try to attend.

Well it's your career at stake. I'm amazed at the limpish response by anesthesiologists, and physicians in general. Amazed.

I totally agree. Yes, I may only be a 3rd year medical student that is strongly considering anesthesiology...but it seems as if some or most (not sure which) anesthesiologists live in denial of the changes that might be coming. 😱

The old breed of wealthy anesthesiologists are probably in denial. A lot of them simply don't care, they got theirs and are on the way out. The new breed of incoming residents, current residents, and rookie attendings are on the ball with the issues. If they're not... its your duty to inform them.
