Hey guys. Today I took the first diagnostic MCAT for the TPR. IT was terrible. For those of you who took TPR, what were your first diag. scores and how much did you improve by the time you took the last diagnostic just before the real thing? Finally, did you score the same on your real thing as your last diag?
thanks

This is the MCAT you took before studying for the MCAT, correct?
I haven't taken TPR or Kaplan or started studying for the MCAT at all

but

I did the Verbal and the Bio sections just to see where I was at so far and got a 12 and 9 respectively (1 question away from a 10 on the Bio = so annoying)

My favorite part was in the Verbal where a question asked, "What would be an appropriate title for this passage?" and down in the footnotes, it said, "Adapted from A.Nancy Avadkian's 'Viewpoints of the Academy...'"

Anyway, I've talked to other people who took the diagnostic for Kaplan and I was hearing scores between 15 and 25.

24 with kaplan, but i rushed through it and was very poorly prepared. On practice tests leading up to the real thing I was getting 35-37. Still waiting on the real thing...

20, ended up with a 29. Don't let the diagnostic shake you up, I think part of its purpose is to scare you into studying.

Best of luck.

First TPR Diag - 20. Last two practices: 32,31. It really gets better once you get to the AAMC tests. Don't be discouraged until you try those!

Important thing to remember with TPR. Their first diag is the one that they use for their money back if you don't improve guarantee. If they made it easy and everyone got 30's they would have to issue lots more refunds. I am a TPR teacher and I tell all my students not to freak out about it. The average improvement from the first diag is about 10 points. I got a 27 on my first diag and a 37 on my best AAMC practice test. Don't worry about it!

20 on TPR 4911
33 on last two practice tests, hopefully there on the real deal.

Study hard with their workbook and you will see significant increases in your score by the 3rd diag. Take the practice tests seriously and they will be good indicators. Oh yeah, Examkrackers Verbal 101 is a must have supplement.

g'luck.

Don't worry about diagnostics. They want you to do badly on the diagnostic. It ensures that they'll make their higher score guarantee. It also freaks you out and makes you work harder.

27 --> 40

AAMC 7 - PS10/VR9/BS11

I didnt take it until after I'd gone through all the EK materials once. I took two more full-lengths and scored 1 pt lower on one and the same on the other. I felt the most confident coming out of the real deal than I did after finishing any of the AAMC practice tests.

My first diagnostic exam at Kaplan yielded me a score of 14! I managed to work on my timing and re-covered the necessary material with Kaplan and EK. Last summer got an actual score of 30 with an even breakdown. Good luck people its definitely doable if really want it.
