It seems to me that mostly everyone has taken chem and bio already. So I was wondering if it would be better to take 1 math and science course or If I should just take calc 1, chem 1, and bio 1 all in one semester? please help me thanks

Are you planning to take the PCAT in either October or January? That makes a little difference.

Taking all three courses at once is doable, but you could have a heavy schedule with all of the labs and recitations for each course (if applicable to you). But if you have time before the PCAT and the admissions cycle when you plan to apply, you can spread out the load more.

I'm just taking pre-reqs right now. I'm not going to take the PCAT untill next year just trying to get A's on these courses first. But you think ok if I take calc, bio, and chem at the same time

I would set up the schedule from now to the date to the PCAT. That way, you can see how many prereqs you need to take in combination with your other requirements and schedule accordingly. Spreading them out optimizes your chances for doing well in those courses unless you have a desire to take upper-level science courses to get the theory behind the basic sciences. If you are considering a degree, do remember that you have to account for that as well.

If your goal is to go to pharmacy school that makes the junior and senior years as fall back options, then I would worry just about fulfilling all of the prereqs tested on the PCAT first, then the other prereqs, and then worry about the possibilities about other courses then. This strategy is called prioritization.😉

I think it depends on so many factors and only you can answer that question:

1. Your ability and academic history
2. Experience of taking on heavy work load
3. Background and familiarity in subjects
4. EC/work schedule
5. Difficulty of profs/school
