Imagine that you are doing one-on-one interview at your top choice DS.
What would be your best answers??

• What would you advise the candidates for President regarding the health care system?

• What is the biggest issue facing dentistry today?

• How would you deal with patients that can't afford dental care?

• Do you think it is ethical that dentists are not required to accept medicaid for payment?

I'm interested in knowing too. Depending on your overarching political philosophy (and assuming it's important enough to you that you would stick with it and not just say something that sounds good), the truthful answers to those questions may not make you look so good or as good compared to other people (unless you have extra time to explain the philosophy behind it, which I'm assuming is not recommended in an interview).

On a similar note, anyone have a good resource where I can read a bit about how insurance and payments and all of that works in dentistry? I know it's a little different from medicine, and I'm interested in learning more.

Go talk to a doctor. I'm a dentist.

I don't know.

They wouldn't have made it past the security guards.

I know they are going to rarely ask this kind of questions on an inerview. But I found them on the sdn interview feedback site and I wanted to prepare the worst case situation. Feel free to say anything~ Thanks!

Just say what you think b/c I think to hear someone else's own opinion about issues are more important than just repeat the sample answers even tho there are some questions that everybody can answer the same. GL on interviews 🙂

I have no idea on any of those...lol. And, I didn't get asked anything crazy like those either. Just be yourself, and if your not sure...flip the script and ask them to weigh in on it.
