What would cause a dentist to prescribe steroids (testosterone)

I haven't in 4 years of school ever been given an indication for prescribing testosterone. Other steroids that might help alleviate ulcers or what not, but not testosterone.

Systemic steroids should probably not be rx by a dentist. An md consult should be sought before thinking this would be the best tx.
