What would you do? ADVICE PLEASE!!!

I'm applying this year for class of 2011...I havent taken MCAT yet and I'm finishing up Physics series during the summer. Due to heavy load of classes, i havent had much time to dedicate to MCAT (which makes me very uneasy)... I came to this epiphany last night...Why not take Physics series I & II and not take the III until the spring term and have a month to really dedicate to MCAT (my school runs on quarter system). I have also heard that physics III is mainly optic so it doesnt mesh with physics I & II).
Long as I get the pre-reqs done before med school and having 2/3 of grades in physics will give them pretty good idea...Or at least that's what I assume....
Good idea or bad idea and why? Any word of advice will be appreciated. THANK YOU!

As for your physics idea, that's a good idea. You do not need them done by the time you apply. Plenty of people finish some of their prereqs their last semester in college after having gotten in.

The real trouble is that if you take the MCAT in september and finish your apps by late October, you're putting yourself in a pretty crappy position for the application cycle. This is not a battle you want to fight handicapped.

Agreed .. while I think your plan for physics is fine, esp. since you don't have to actually satisfy all requirements until you matriculate, and a lot of the MCAT physics is far less involved than you'd have in a university class (though optics is on the MCAT, so you might want to look at that). Still, sending your app out that late means schools will have already extended interview invites to applicants, and may have even accepted students by the time they come across your app.

If you're determined to apply this cycle, I would suggest spending as much time as possible studying for the MCAT and scoring as high as you can .. the sense I've gotten is that if you're going to apply late, you'll need to have even stronger stats to stay in the running. You might also consider holding off a year and applying when you've had more time to study for the MCAT, completed your courses etc.

Why not hold off a year and prepare yourself for the MCAT as best as you can? Also, it ll be easier spreading classes over to do better and you can even add some stuff to your app by applying 2012.
