WhatMD schools should I apply to with my low stats?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't ever understand why people think this question can be answered without an actual MCAT score. Why take it if you're not prepared? What is your state of residence?

I have a 3.57 cum gpa, and 3.48 sci, average ECs
Here are my trends
Freshman: 3.9
Sophomore: 2.9 (Personal/Family problems I explained on my PS)
Junior: 4.0

I havent taken my MCAT yet but I dont think I will do very well from lack of preparation... most likely will score around 24-28 (I took ochem and physics my sophomore yr). What MD schools do I have a realistic chance at getting accepted to?

What's your basis for saying you will get a 24-28? If you haven't prepared for the test (taken any practice tests?), you have no idea where you might score.

Also, if you don't think you're going to do well, why take the test? That's just a waste of $200. You're better off pushing off the test, studying, and then taking it later.

Ross University. Maybe even St. George's University if you're lucky. lol.

I hear Ireland is nice this time of year...

Buy the MSAR and all your questions shall be answered.

If you're shooting for an MD program, you definitely need to aim higher than 24-28 on the MCAT.

For the love of all that is holy, do not take the MCAT is you expect to score less than 30. Study, take practice tests, and then take the MCAT. Plan on taking an extra year to study science in greater depth, take a second major, get a masters degree, work in a lab or a social service setting do anything but DON'T take the MCAT when you aren't doing well in the run up.
