I was wondering what your schedules are like. I know your are all probably very busy but i'm interested in knowing how your day breaks down between classes, other academic responsibilities, studying and social time. Additionally, how often do you spend time with other classmates/socialize? is it easy to make friends in pod school or is everyone too busy and doing things on their own? if you go to school with other programs , do you interact/hang out with those people or are there cliques?

additionally, random questions, but for your third year are you mostly on/near campus or is it a lot of traveling.

maybe mention what year and school you go to!

My first year...

Get to school at 6am

Go to classes/study at school until 4pm

Hang out with family from 4:30-6

Study 6-10Pm

Repeat...

Tuesday mornings we have surgical conferences we can go to as well. That changes things up a bit.

So it seems like regular podiatry days are brutal, but call is fair.

skip morning classes, mosey into afternoon anatomy lab, poke at some cadavers and try to remain invisible, get out at 4-5, eat dinner and 'relax' a little before settling in to study for the night--> convince yourself you'll just watch one more episode, play one last game, peruse social media enviously at your contemporaries with jobs affording their ability to party and travel-->end up not studying, hit the hay with the unwavering conviction you'll get everything done tomorrow.

rinse, repeat

FWIW- this is not everyday, and I don't know how to explain it but I can assure you that you'll come to understand it as a student. No matter how daunting the task may seem, or how unmotivated/procrastinatory you may be, eventually fight or flight response kicks in and the job gets done, time and time again.

Fortunately for us, like the game of golf, there are no pictures on the scorecard.
Your GPA only shows the bottom line.
No one but you and a professor will know that the B was a 79.67%, but you only missed one class all semester so he/she rounded up, or that the C is a 70.0001% and you passed by the skin of your teeth, and no one is more surprised than you that you actually passed.

Speaking for myself but classmates have echoed this, your stress response to academia eventually burns out/gets fried at some point during your didactic years. You lose fear of outcome, you just begrudgingly do what needs to be done.
When I'm motivated it's A's, when I'm just not feeling it, well, what do they call the Podiatry student who gets all C's?
