Hello everyone; this thread is about Match Day for the Class of 2025. Congratulations!

Below is the format from previous years. Good luck to everyone. Please post questions or comments only related to the Match process for the Class of 2025.

Any information on the scramble list ?

I'm not sure what I would choose from that list. I suppose there are Detroit programs on there that historically were strong, but is the fact they scrambled an indicator that there is something very problematic about them now.

It seems UT RGVs podiatry residency is up and running. I'm somewhat blown away that a brand new program would be approved for 4 residents. That's a big commitment of resident surgical needs to fill.

I was personally shocked about HCA Westside and Aventura. Especially Aventura, I thought that program was historically pretty competitive.

Have heard very good things about Trinity in Livonia. Believe it is one of the better Detroit programs.

You'd be surprised. Those programs are nearly always far less competitive than they should be in terms of quality of cases/training.
It has been that way for years. I had no problem telling my classmates after I finished clerkships and decided I was going there. I was letting them know I wasn't their competition (many of them were competing hard for mediocre Fla and TX programs... one matched PI in Atlanta).

I think the good Detroit and Cincy/KY programs are some of the most under-the-radar training programs in podiatry: good training, good volume, not super-competitive most years due to the location. They simply won't draw the app numbers that other more popular cities and programs close to pod schools do, and even if they do, there are many Detroit programs/spots to fill.

Yeah, that is crazy they were instantly approved to take that many spots. Get ready for even pus jobs and non-surgical pod jobs to get competitive soon? 🤣

They will probably scramble every year... even the program director is not RRA cert. That's pretty unheard of these days. Their only hope at filling is probably if the new pod school rapidly expands class sizes?

The wait is absolutely killing me

Matched!

🤞🏽hopefully my number one

Any good pgy1 positions left in the open residency spots? Or anyone willing to trade a pgy2 spot for a new england spot?

Until there is a residency shortage, every pod school will have "100% match rate" now that the scramble is considered an extension part of the match ("match part 2"). The first-part match rates (main match) aren't 100% except at perhaps the smaller class newer schools... and still only in some rare years.

Any pod school can give students what they need if they apply themselves.
The libraries all have the same books, journals. It's mainly about putting in the time.

Congrats to all who got a good program they like. 👍
